Group Controller
Description
The Group Controller is primarily responsible for managerial oversight of designated plant controllers and acting as a liaison between plant finance teams and Corporate Finance for all finance-related matters. This individual will also participate in acquisition due diligence and transition teams and manage all aspects of finance-related transition matters following an acquisition. The Group Controller will also assist the Corporate Controller, Director of Financial Reporting and tax consultant in various capacities and prepare financial analyses and present such information to senior and executive management. This position requires excellent management and communication skills and regular interaction with designated local site finance and management teams. The individual must be able to travel periodically (estimated up to 50% or more travel per year). It also requires the individual to develop strong accounting, reporting and general business skills in specific areas. This individual must exercise sound judgment within broadly defined practices and policies by selecting optimum methods, techniques and criteria for obtaining results while insuring performance requirements are met.
Oversee designated plant controllers and act as a liaison between plant finance teams and Corporate Finance for all finance-related and staffing matters
· For those facilities that they oversee:
o Develop and demonstrate technical expertise in accounting, reporting and business matters and practices specific to those plants/facilities.
o Review monthly financial results and related disclosure schedules with plant controllers and local plant management prior to submission to Corporate Finance.
o Assist the Director of Financial Reporting in resolving financial questions or issues related to the global consolidation.
o Perform Group consolidations of multiple entities, if applicable.
o Interact with external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audit field work and participate in closing meetings.
o Review financial information submitted for quarterly plant meetings and participate in such meetings.
o Monitor the design and effectiveness and test local internal controls and notify Corporate Finance of any changes in internal controls.
o Review and understand local budgets.
o Interact with local plant management
· Participate in acquisition due diligence and transition teams and manage all aspects of finance-related transition matters following an acquisition.
· Assist Corporate Controller in developing Financial Reporting Policies (FRP) and related procedures and education/training of local site finance teams.
· Prepare various financial analyses and present such information to senior and executive management.
· Assist tax consultant in tax accounting, planning and compliance matters.
Desired Experience
· An undergraduate degree in accounting is required.
· A CPA and/or MBA is preferred, but not required
· Minimum of 7 years experience in controlling or financial reporting positions, preferably at publicly traded companies.
· Good planning, communication and managerial skills are required.
· Strong computer and Excel skills are required.
· The ability to multi-task in a fast paced accounting environment and perform functions such as the creation and maintenance of complex spreadsheets, account analysis and reconciliation.
· This individual must be highly detail oriented and skilled with a PC and software packages.

$120,000 to $150,000 plus bonus
