Senior Accountant
Description
A well known investment company seeks a Senior Accountant to perform budgeting and benefits accounting support.
• Benefit Accounting
- Record and track actual expense by operating company
- Analyze monthly benefit account activity
- Quarterly true up the benefit accounts from budget amounts to actual amounts
- Work with Global Benefits Department to receive benefit data
- Determine monthly Benefits Deposit to the VEBA Trust
- Project full year benefit costs.
- Inform operating companies of the Retiree and LTD expenditures
- Assist in the entering and gathering of data for benefits budget
- Reconcile the Benefits Bank Accounts to the VEBA statements
• Budgets
- Enter budget data to Departmental Budget schedules for the Preliminary and Final Budget
- Enter the Outside Services Budget and Headcount schedules into Oracle and Excel
- Set up Excel schedules in order to upload into Oracle
- Analysis of Budget reports
- Prepare budget books for the presentation.
- Update the allocations to the operating companies.
- Special projects relating to budget requests
Desired Experience
• Undergraduate degree in Accounting with five to seven years experience working in a public or private accounting environment.
Experience in budgeting and benefit accounting is preferred
• Strong analytical skills, good communication skills.
• Strong Computer Skills – Excel, Word. Oracle, Powerpoint
