Staff Accountant--Property Management Accounting
Description
Performs the full range of accounting duties for several medium to large properties including preparing financial statements, budgets, budget reprojections, and cash management. Responsible for timeliness and accuracy of
financial reporting. Under limited supervision, works independently and is responsible for planning own workload to meet deadlines.
Prepares financial statements in an accurate and timely manner.
Analyzes the general ledger and ensures that balances are reasonable andall balance sheet accounts are properly supported.
Prepares variance comments in cooperation with the manager of the property comparing actual information to budget.
Prepares recovery schedules, updates the CTI recovery module and prepares year-end reconciliation billings. Reviews recoveries for reasonableness and investigates any abnormalities.
Compares information on the CTI tenant profile to the lease.
Prepares Capital Expenditure Status Report in cooperation with the manager of the property.
Prepares annual budgets and budget reprojections in cooperation with the manager of the property.
Properly maintains tax books including depreciation, amortization, straightline rent and FAS 141/142 adjustments.
Desired Experience
Minimum 2-3 years experience in a full charge
accounting position. Property management accounting
experience preferred. Four-year college degree
required with a concentration in accounting or
related field preferred. Proficient in the use of PC,
Windows, Excel and Word and Lotus Notes.
