Staff/Senior Accountant
Description
Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and state, federal and local laws. Assists in the maintenance of the Company’s fixed assets and applicable depreciation. Supports in System Maintenance of GL accounts and report structures. Assists in the preparation of the departmental forecasts and budgets. Performs closing procedures in support of month-end general ledger close such as preparing journal entries and reconciling general ledger accounts. Responsible for follow-up/investigation and achieving resolution of finance/accounting issues highlighted/uncovered as a result of discussions/meetings with key business partners. Compiles and analyzes monthly financial information to assist the Finance department in the preparation of entries to general ledger accounts for current activity as well as investigate and correct errors and inconsistencies in previous financial entries, documents and reports.
Maintains the Sales & Marketing pre-paid and accrual accounts/reconciliations. This would also include the maintenance of key accounts. Responsible for running monthly reports (i.e. cost center statements and headcount reports, etc.), ensuring accuracy of the data and timely distribution. Determines proper handling of financial transactions and approves transactions within designated limits. Also, provides recommendations regarding the accounting of reserves, assets and expenditures.
Desired Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, finance or equivalent from an accredited college or university, and three (3) years accounting/finance work experience.
