Compensation Manager
Description
Responsible for driving innovative compensation solutions and consultation to support our business strategies and has an impact across the organization by supporting employee engagement with motivating compensation programs.
Plans, develops and implements base and incentive compensation programs, policies and procedures that are in alignment with the company’s direction and competitive practices, and that attract, retain and motivate employees: Develops, implements and administers competitive pay programs that support North American strategy including: Executive and exempt base compensation, short and long term variable pay, sales incentive and total compensation for hourly production workers. Counsels management on pay decisions, compensation practices, and policy and guideline interpretation. Influences decision-making process and final outcome by providing detailed analysis/models, innovative recommendations, and expert advice to management and HR Business Partners. Reviews and approves proposed salary changes and position assignments for conformance to established guidelines to ensure internal and external equity. Researches innovative and leading-edge approaches. Collects and analyzes competitive salary information to determine company’s market relationship and to ensure external equity. Ensures that the Human Resources Information System supports the company’s compensation programs with related reports. Plans and manages employee communications related to compensation programs: determines content and format of printed material; oversees and conducts presentations, employee meetings, and training. Develops tools that focus on the integration of workforce planning mechanics to effectively manage the staffing and compensation components of the annual business plan. Oversee the analysis and reporting of the Compensation Analyst (role’s one direct report).
Desired Experience
Bachelors degree, preferably in human resources or financial accounting 7+ years progressive compensation experience, including analysis, base compensation structures and incentive structures, or related experience Specific experience developing, implementing and administering field sales incentive programs is highly desirable Ability to evaluate complex issues and present information and recommendations in an objective and understandable manner for effective decision making Excellent verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management, including executive management Demonstrated leadership skills Experience managing people and projects Advanced skills in Excel and proficiency in Access Strong analytical and problem solving skills Proven time management and organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities Excellent diplomacy, conflict resolution and influencing skills Demonstrates strong initiative and is self-managed
